Hermès Orange H Epsom Leather 25cm Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware, 2007. Originally introduced in the Late 20th Century, the Birkin bag was created during a chance encounter between two iconic figures, actress Jane Birkin and Hermès chairman Jean-Louis Dumas. On a flight from Paris to London, Birkins' tote bag fell from the overhead causing much frustration on her part that Dumas took notice to. By the end of the flight, the two had brainstormed on a flight sickness bag the perfect accessory for the modern day woman and mother, to what we now know as the holy grail of handbags, the Birkin. Since it's creation, the Birkin has gained world recognition for its exclusivity and became the number one collectible investment for the last consecutive five years.
Each Birkin is done entirely by hand by a highly skilled and trained Hermés craftsman over the course of an 18 hour period and is offered in a wide variety of colors and skins, creating the ultimate symbol of luxury, quality and sophistication. This extremely rare and highly sought after Birkin was handcrafted in France from Epsom leather, Hermés most popular leather due to its light weight and and durability. Additionally, the overall "Orange H" or Hermés Orange signature color is a must have for collectors, with only a handful of bags made in the coloration each year. In 2004, Hermés introduced the smaller version of the Birkin in the 25cm size, which has since become the number one requested size by Hermés clients. What makes this 25cm even more special is the adorning palladium hardware that opens to a fully lined epsom leather interior with plenty of storage to house all of your day to night essentials. Stamped with "Hermés Paris" and "Made in France" embossment to front of bag and blind stamped with a "K" in square to right sangle, indicating the year made (2007) with corresponding "9" sign for craftsman numeration.
