George Jones majolica jardinière, the cylindrical body with relief-molded white swans, waterlilies, pads, and cattails on simulated water with reeds to the background, on a turquoise ground, the interior glazed in lilac, the reverse with tortoiseshell mottling, impressed monogram for George Jones and Sons, with molded British Registry lozenge (indistinct), and painted design number, '3568,' which corresponds to the entry 'Swan Jardinière' in the George Jones Majolica Pattern Numbers Books preserved in the Wedgwood Archives and reprinted in Bergesen.*
