Minton Majolica Sardine Server, the box with integral stand banded with green-glazed seaweed, the lid with three naturalistically glazed sardines on a bed of seaweed, the reverse with impressed marks: 'MINTONS,' with date cypher for 1876, and design number, '1383,' which corresponds to the entry, 'Sardine Box (M)' in the Minton Majolica Ornamental Shapes Books preserved in the Minton Archives and printed in Joan Jones.*
