Late 19th Century Tortoise Bamboo Two-Tier Side Table with Rattan Tops, English, ca. 1880. This particular side table was handcrafted in England consisting of a tortoise shell lacquered bamboo frame and two tiered shelves with octagonal top resting on splayed legs. Tops are made from a tightly woven natural rattan material that is also lacquered to ensure longevity of use.
