Gardenia Eau de Toilette

$125.00

In a creative collaboration with the master gardeners at the New York Botanical Garden and renowned perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, Caswell-Massey has reimagined the authentic scent of living gardenias that bloom in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the Garden. Flowering in early spring, the delicate colors and subtle aroma of the gardenia blossoms have a magnetic quality, making this one of the most popular spots at the Garden for visitors to gather.

With 21st-century fragrance technology, the experience of a living garden can now be responsibly captured without harming or harvesting flowers through the use of the “living floral” technique. Using this fragrance-capture technology, the scent signatures of unharvested flowers are identified—producing something akin to sheet music—allowing teams to recreate “nature-identical” scent molecules from sustainably sourced materials (the instruments, continuing the metaphor) without damaging rare botanical species. These nature-identical molecules are then reimagined by perfumers (the conductors) to create Perfumes and Eau de Toilettes (the finished symphonies) for the Floral Collection.

2.0 oz (60 mL) spray bottle. Made with natural extracts produced with solar power. Cruelty‑free, paraben‑free, phthalate‑free. Made in the USA.

Every purchase of Gardenia Eau de Toilette directly supports The New York Botanical Garden’s work in plant research, conservation, horticulture and education.
