Hermès Bordeaux Courchevel Leather 27cm Bolide Bag with Palladium Hardware, 1996. Originally introduced in the Early 20th Century, the "sac pour l'auto" which later became the "Bolide" or French for "racing car" bag, came into production due to the rise of the automobile. Made with mobility in mind, the Bolide was Hermés first zippered bag and simultaneously offered style, elegance and accessibility for the everyday traveler. In 1982, the Bolide debuted as a handbag and was expanded into an assortment of colors, leathers and finishes whilst still drawing inspiration from the original design.
This vintage edition of the Bolide was handcrafted in France from premium courchevel leather in a rich Bordeaux oxblood color with adorning palladium hardware. This transitional piece can be worn as a top handle, shoulder or even cross body bag with the additional strap included with bag. This Bolide has a date stamp of “Z” in circle, indicating the year made (1996), and additional strap date stamped "D" for 2019. Additional strap is handcrafted from noir, blanc and deep blue swift leather in a zig zag pattern with plastic still in tact to hardware. Interior of bag opens to a matching Bordeaux colored agneau leather with plenty of room to house day to night essentials with a large center compartment and one slip pocket. Comes with certificate of authenticity, dust bag, removable shoulder strap and strap dust bag. In great pre-owned condition with light wear shown throughout bag.
