"Ciels Byzantins" in French translates to "Byzantine Skies" or skies of the Roman Empires and depicts an architectural motif surrounded by various geometric motifs and floral accents. At the center of the design stands a classic Roman architectural arch with two peacocks guiding the entrance which symbolized royalty and immortality. Surrounding the center piece are eight classic Roman medallion tile designs in a beautiful soft pastel coloration. This popular and highly sought after design was made by artist, Julia Abadie and was one of her many designs made for the iconic Hermès fashion house. This rare color way and chiffon silk combination comes in a light and airy pastel coloration with purples, lilacs and greens, perfect for any occasion. Great condition with almost no signs of use.
