Louis Vuitton x Murakami Limited Edition Monogram Multicolor Insolite Wallet, 2003. This incredibly rare and highly sought after piece of Louis Vuitton history became a worldwide phenomenon when Japanese artist Takashi Murakami teamed up with the Louis Vuitton brand and creative Director Marc Jacobs for a range of exclusive collections. On the Spring/Summer 2003 runway, the multicolor line where Murakami re-imagined the classic monogram logo with a variety of bright colors in his whimsical Japanese designs became an instant cult classic favored by celebrities all over the world. This particular leather "Insolite" wallet was made in the the iconic miniature multicolor "LV" monogram pattern against a white canvas with double snap lock closure to interior of wallet and full zip around pocket. Exterior "D ring" allows for wallet to be converted into a wristlet or hook to the interior of any bag with a compatible d ring. Wallet opens to three interior compartments with two zip closures, single bill compartment and twelve card slots. In good gently used condition with signs of use to the wallet listed within. Condition: GRADE - 2.5. Overall signs of use to wallet are extremely minimal with only signs of use to one exterior side of wallet where light color transfer has occurred. Interior of bill slip also shows rubbing from color transfer. Hardware shows light scuffing and minor scratching.
