Superb Pair of Chinese Famille Rose Mandarin Vases, Canton, ca. 1840 Mounted as Lamps. Beautifully enameled with rare scenes of a marriage, its brokering and ceremony, with the couple on the necks of the vases between two gilt archaistic phoenix-like handles, the boarders profusely decorated with dragons, gilded highlights throughout. Mounted on a carved giltwood base and gilt metal, with handmade custom shades, and gilt bronze laurel wreath finials. This highly decorative pair of "trophies" are simply stunning.
