Chinese Export Porcelain Canton Famille Rose Plate, ca. 1820. The round plate with a central design depicting a theatre pavilion Imperial Court scene with three seated figures at a Wei Qi board, with hyper-vivid enamels and fine gilt accents, with multi-layered raised enamels forming the pleats and textures of the garments, and blue Taihu stones to the foreground, the elaborate border with the figure of a bird within a lantern-shaped cartouche, together with brightly hued pheasants, flowers, ju-i-scepters, a fenced pond, and lotus pad.
