Joseph Holdcroft Majolica Sardine Box with Integral Stand and Cover, English, ca. 1875, the box of rectangular form, with relief molded fish to the sides, the attached stand with flowering water lilies and bordered in yellow, the interior glazed in turquoise, the rounded cover with three naturalistically glazed sardines on a bed of green glazed water leaves molded in high relief, on a cobalt blue ground, the reverse with impressed mark: J. HOLDCROFT.'
