BIOGRAPHY:
Felix Mas studied art at the San Jorge Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona. An academic traditionalist, his paint surfaces are highly finished and smooth, and his works displaying the luminous beauty and elegance of the female form are most sought after. His works are said to have "sensual elegance."
Mas's work has been exhibited extensively in the United States, Venezuela, and Spain, including Artexpo 2000, Barcelona.
The present work, 'LUZ,' has strong symbolist qualities with elements of magical realism, with an abundance of Oriental influences. Though the subject matter is gentle, the present work has a commanding and powerful presence.
