Chanel Classic Small 2.55 Double Flap Quilted Lambskin Bag in Taupe, 1996-1997. This iconic re-issue bag was originally issued by Coco Chanel in February 1955 and named after it's creation date, the 2.55. After the debut of the 2.55, the bag became the very first socially acceptable shoulder bag for the modern day woman of considerable social status, thanks to Chanel. The mademoiselle chain and lock which was named after the fact that Chanel never married, are two staples that make this bag a forever timeless classic. This particular 2.55 comes in a beautiful, supple taupe lambskin with gold plated "CC" mademoiselle lock, chain and hardware. Interior houses snap closure pocket with three inner storage compartments as well as exterior rear slip pocket. Mademoiselle chain can be worn two ways as a double shoulder strap or to the full 10" strap drop length. This bag is in great pre owned, with light wear to leather strap and underside of flap.
